Description: A stunning 19th Century archtop giltwood overmantel mirror of grand proportions and exceptional quality.  The shaped and curved mirror glass plate of waisted form is set within a beautifully hand carved moulded, fluted and elegantly simple giltwood frame, surmounted with an elaborate centred pierced cartouche composition comprising of an arrangement of a stylised scallop shell flanked with richly scrolling acanthus leaves, finely carved in high relief.  Supported on shaped platform base featuring a futher fabulous arrangement to acanthus leaves to each side, terminating on ceramic ball foot.  Dimensions: H: 57.75 in / 146.7 cm   W: 51.25 in / 130.2 cm   D: 3 in / 7.6 cm  Stock Reference No: A4031
