Description: A very rare and impressive 19th Century Irish tryptic giltwood overmantel Mirror of exceptional quality. The compartmental tryptic mirror glass plates of rectangular form are set within finely hand carved, moulded, fluted and pierced giltwood frame featuring with elegant reeded columnar detail and beautiful richly scrolling foliate, ruffles and fabulous flowerhead motif detail throughout. Surmounted with an exquisitely ornate, pierced centred crest composition comprising of an arrangement of a centred pagoda flanked with a stunning ho ho bird and squirrel, c-scrolls and ruffle motif detail, all finely hand carved in high relief, supported on platform base.
